Lake Pine on Monday. It's one of my special places to go (my brother-favorite hiking partner-and I walked it often before he died). I had a snake event there, also. I'm alone and there is a snake sunning him? her? it? self right there in the middle of the trail. A mountain-man type coming from the other direction identified it as a copperhead, walked around it to get me out of my paralysis and escorted me on my way. Doesn't really compare to the snake-dropping-out-of-a-tree thing, right?

Thanks, Wayne, for the welcome message. I miss Richmond, but Cary is a good place for me to be right now. It sure does offer up some nice people, places and things.
